Stretcher
The Stretcher or in an easy description a "bed on wheels". This is a piece of equipment carried around by the majority of vehicles within the fleet of the ambulance service. Most used the Mercedes Sprinter box or HeliMed-85. These "beds" are one of the best ways to transport a patient from place to place or from incident to Heli to be flown from a major incident. The stretcher has a reclining back to assist patients who struggle to sit up fully and need that back support or for it to be fully down when it is needed. It is also equipped with a lift that allows the stretcher to change height allowing paramedics to have the bed part of the stretcher closer to the ground when transporting a patient from floor to stretcher. Reducing that movement so we prevent further injuries as spoken about before.
